Children’s Admission Policy - Public Swims
The Management and Staff of Newpark School Sports Centre aim to ensure children feel they are in a safe, welcoming and focused environment where they can undertake challenging and enjoyable activities. We want to make sure that children are protected and kept safe from harm while they are in the centre. Most importantly we recognise that children are here to have fun and learn new skills.
All children of 8 years and under must be accompanied at all times throughout the centre by a responsible parent or adult aged 18 and over.
Children aged 1-5 years must be accompanied in the water by a responsible adult, with no more than two children per responsible adult. The adult must remain with the children at all times.
Children aged 6-10 years must be accompanied by a responsible adult who must remain in view of the child in the pool. If children are competent swimmers they will no longer form part of the adult to child ratio.
Children aged 11 years and upwards may be unaccompanied. However, management reserve the right to refuse any unaccompanied child aged 11 years and up, if they are considered a risk to themselves or other centre users.
Swim nappies must be worn by all babies and children not toilet trained.
We encourage the use of flotation devices / buoyancy aids for non-swimmers.
All non-swimmers must remain in the shallow end as indicated by pools signs.
Newpark School Sports Centre enforces a no photography or filming policy throughout the centre.
All Centre users are kindly requested to abide by the centre’s rules and regulations.
